Boy and Girl with Happy New Year Banners in Chinese Outfits

A smiling boy and girl stand side by side, each holding a long paper banner across the front of their body. The boy wears a round cap and a buttoned jacket with matching pants, all covered in dragon and cloud patterns. His banner reads Happy New Year in English. The girl has two round hair buns tied with little bows and wears a knee-length buttoned dress decorated with flowers and curling swirls. Her banner has Chinese characters written down it. Both have simple, cheerful faces and rounded shoes. The patterned clothing gives plenty of small spaces for crayons or fine markers. Try red and gold for the outfits, then let kids pick a different color for each dragon. This free printable also works well for a classroom talk about how people share good wishes at the new year, and children can copy the English greeting onto their own card.
