Boy Fishing From a Rowboat Among Ice Chunks

A smiling child in a striped pom-pom beanie and a long scarf sits in a small rowboat with a fishing rod in hand. The line drops into the water, ending in a little bobber. An oar rests along the side of the boat, and flat pieces of broken ice float all around. Behind the boat, a wide icy shoreline leads to bare trees covered in blossoms, with jagged mountains and a half-risen sun with long rays at the top of the page. It fits the Spring category well, since it shows the thaw and the first flowers. Try soft pinks and whites for the blossoms, pale blues and greys for the ice, and warm yellows and oranges for the sunrise. It also works as a talking point about how ice melts and why the seasons change. The free printable page gives plenty of open space for crayons or markers.
