Bunny With a Big Carrot in the Vegetable Patch

Sitting upright in the middle of a carrot patch, this bunny holds a big carrot with leafy tops in both front paws. Its ears stand tall, its eyes are wide and sparkly, and its toothy grin shows two little front teeth. Whiskers and fluffy tufts of fur on the cheeks and head add plenty of detail to color. Four more carrot plants grow around the bunny, with round orange tops poking out of the soil and feathery leaves above. Small dirt mounds and a tiny sprout fill the ground. Preschoolers and early elementary kids can use crayons on the big open areas and markers on the finer spots. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the carrot in the bunny's paws and the two carrots on the ground: color them carrot orange, leaving the thin lines between the ridges open.
- 2Fill the leafy tops of all the carrots and the held carrot with leaf green, keeping the leaf stems and veins white.
- 3Color the dirt patches with soil brown and the dark soil in the bottom left corner with dark brown.
- 4Paint the bunny's belly and back cream, the back and front paws tan brown, and the inside of the ears soft pink.
- 5Add the pink nose and forest green to the grass tufts, keeping the eye whites, the teeth and the background gaps white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading to the soil and the bunny's back with a slightly darker shade of the same color to make it pop.
