This scene has a lot going on. A golfer is mid-swing on a rolling fairway while a second person stands beside a golf bag, and a flag marks the hole on a round putting green close by. A winding pond with ripples and a rocky edge fills the front left, and a dotted sand bunker curves across the lower right. In the bottom corner a golf bag with clubs and a towel leans among grass tufts and blooming flowers. Big leafy trees frame both sides, evergreens line the hills, and at the top a clubhouse with a flag on its roof sits next to a winding path. Birds and puffy clouds fill the sky. Soft blues work for the pond, two or three greens for the fairway and green, and bright yellow or pink for the flowers. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big grass areas, including the foreground and fairway, with grass green, and fill the tree canopies and hills with lime green.
- 2Paint the pond and its ripples with light blue, and color the small cloud in pale aqua while leaving the rest of the sky white.
- 3Fill the golf bag with royal blue, and use medium blue for the bottom part of the bag, leaving the towel and bag highlights white.
- 4Color the bunker sand with sand tan, the flag with bright red, and the clubhouse roof with rust red.
- 5Add forest green to the shrubs, bushes, pine trees, and leaves around the flowers, and use medium gray and light gray for the rocks by the pond and in the bottom corner.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of grass green or royal blue in the shadows under the trees and along the bag to give depth.
