A cheerful boy waves hello from inside his cardboard robot costume. His happy face peeks out of a square box head with a little antenna and round ear pieces. The box body is packed with a dial gauge, a heartbeat-style screen, rows of buttons, stacked circles and a vent panel, so there's lots to color. Striped sleeves show at his arms, and his other hand holds a jack-o'-lantern bucket with a grinning face. He also wears loose pants and sneakers and stands on a few simple tufts of grass. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the pumpkin bucket in pumpkin orange, leaving the handle and the small highlight areas white.
- 2Color the boy's face skin peach and his hair chestnut brown, then fill the pants with bright blue.
- 3Fill the robot's body and head with light gray and silver gray, and use slate gray for the screen frame, the panels, the hinges and the antenna base.
- 4Color the sleeves and hands with silver gray for the stripes and skin peach for the waving hand, then add the shoes in bright red with white soles.
- 5Add the screen details in mint green, the dial and buttons in bright red, golden yellow, grass green, deep purple, bright blue and pumpkin orange, and the open mouth in coral pink.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading under the sleeves and along the pants for extra depth, and keep the gauge face and grille lines white.
