Cartoon Monkey Standing on a Rock with Raised Hands

A cartoon monkey stands with its knees bent on top of a big rounded rock, with both arms lifted up and its hands curled as if holding something small. Its head is tilted, the eyes glance off to one side, and a wide smile spreads across its muzzle. A few hairs stick up from the top of its head, the ears are large and round, and a long curly tail swings out behind its back. Two leafy tufts of grass poke up on either side of the rock. The outlines are thick and the shapes are big, so little hands will find it easy to color. Try browns and tans for the fur, a lighter shade for the face and belly, then gray for the rock and bright greens for the grass. You can also ask kids to copy the monkey's pose and describe what it might be holding.
