Cheerful Cartoon Seahorse and Five Rising Bubbles

Coloring guide
Right in the middle of the page, a happy seahorse floats upright with a long snout, a curved smile and one big shiny eye. There's a wavy fan-shaped crest on its head, and the belly is split into curved bands that are simple to color in. On the right, a scalloped fin sticks out from its back, and the tail curls down at the bottom. Five bubbles of different sizes rise up on the left side. Bold lines and roomy spaces make this free printable a good match for preschoolers and early elementary kids who are still building pencil control. Bright orange or yellow looks great on the body bands, and a soft turquoise makes the crest and fin pop. A light blue or purple tint finishes off the bubbles. This fits right in with our Seahorse coloring pages — see also Reptiles and Snake.
A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- butter yellow
- tangerine orange
- golden amber
- sky blue
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the five bubbles with sky blue, leaving the small shine marks on each bubble white.
- 2Color the head and the light middle body bands of the seahorse with butter yellow, keeping the eye white and its shine white.
- 3Fill the back fin, the upper and lower body bands, and the outer edges of the body with tangerine orange.
- 4Color the top and bottom sections of the tail fin with golden amber, then fill the rest of the tail fin with tangerine orange.
- 5Optional: add a little darker orange along the edges of the yellow areas to give the seahorse a bit of shading.
