Two Seahorses Making a Heart With Curled Tails

Two smiling seahorses meet nose to nose, and their curled tails twist together at the bottom to form a little heart. Both have big round eyes, rosy cheeks, a ruffled crest down the back and a small fan-shaped fin on the side. Simple curved stripes run along their long bellies, so you can color one band at a time. Round bubbles of different sizes float around them on either side. With bold lines and fairly large shapes, it works for preschoolers and early elementary kids, and it's a sweet printable for Valentine's Day or an ocean-themed lesson. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the seahorse heads and the curled tail parts in golden yellow, leaving the eye whites and the space between the two seahorses white.
- 2Fill the long seahorse bodies and their rings with pale yellow, working around the segment lines.
- 3Color the frilly fins along the backs in deep orange and the side fins in light orange.
- 4Fill the heart in the middle with rose red, then color the heart outline and tail spirals in golden yellow.
- 5Add the floating bubbles in sky blue, leaving a little white shine on each one.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker yellow along the edges of the bodies for depth.
