A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the chicken's neck and chest with light orange, leaving the two eye whites bright white.
- 2Color the wing and tail feathers in dark brown for the darker layers and caramel brown for the lighter feather rows.
- 3Paint the barn door panels in barn red, leaving the bright white gaps between the boards.
- 4Color the basket in basket tan, then fill the eggs with cream beige, including the feathers on the ground.
- 5Add bright red to the comb and wattles, golden yellow to the legs and feet, and leaf green to the leg wrap behind the basket.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading with extra pressure on the wing and basket edges for depth.
