Chinese New Year Bunny Smiling Beneath a Blossom Branch and Lantern

Coloring guide
This little bunny sits upright in the grass with big sparkling eyes and a wide smile. A blossoming branch arches over its head, covered in five-petal flowers and plump buds. At the tip hangs a round paper lantern with a long tassel, right next to one of the bunny's tall ears. Down below, a few loose petals and small tufts of grass are scattered around the feet and fluffy tail. Lines are clean and shapes are large, so crayons and markers both work fine, and the tiny flower centers are there for kids who enjoy fine detail. Soft pink blossoms look pretty, and a bright red lantern with a golden tassel stands out nicely. The bunny can stay white or get a light gray coat. It's a free printable for a quiet afternoon, or for a spring or Lunar New Year classroom activity. Looking for more? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the whole bunny body, both big ears on the outside, and the right leg with caramel tan, leaving the eyes and background white.
- 2Color the inner parts of both ears, the buds, and the fallen petals on the ground with soft pink.
- 3Paint the blossom flowers on the branches with pale pink, and the branch itself with warm brown.
- 4Color the fluffy tail, the paws, and the cheek fur with cream, keeping the small white highlights in the eyes untouched.
- 5Fill the round lantern with bright red, and give the open mouth a raspberry pink color.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading along the bunny's belly and under the lantern for depth, and leave the background white.
