Christmas Calendar Living Room with a Sleepy Striped Cat
Coloring guide
The sweet little detail in this Christmas living room is a striped cat curled up asleep on a round braided rug. Next to the cat stands a tall tree with a big star on top, bows, beaded garlands, candy canes, a gingerbread man, a heart and plenty of round ornaments, with wrapped presents and ribbons stacked around its base. On the right, three stockings hang from a brick fireplace with a crackling fire. The mantel holds candles, a lantern, a little house, a snowman and holly garland, with a wreath above. The left side has a snowy window with a curtain and a cushioned armchair with a snowflake pillow. Kids who like detail will enjoy the mix of big and tiny spaces on this free printable. Warm oranges and yellows suit the fire, and soft grays or oranges work for the sleepy cat. Looking for more? Our Activity Sheets and Math Pixel Art coloring pages pair nicely with this Calendar page.

- 1Start with the big background areas: fill the window panes and the sky with sky blue and medium blue, leaving the snowflakes and the little snowy trees white.
- 2Color the Christmas tree in forest green, then add the golden yellow star on top and the bright red and royal blue ornaments and gift wrap.
- 3Paint the cat in marigold orange with warm brown stripes, keeping the closed eye lines and the muzzle light.
- 4Fill the armchair, rug, and gift boxes with bright red, olive green, and warm brown, and color the walls and fireplace bricks in light tan and tan brown.
- 5Optional: Leave the snowman, the stockings' patterns, and the highlights on the ornaments white, then add small details like the cream wreath and the flames in marigold orange.
