Christmas Tree Scene With a Grinch-Type Creature and Reindeer Puppy
Coloring guide
A big, shaggy creature with round eyes, a wide smile and a long drooping nose sits next to a small puppy by the Christmas tree. The puppy has a reindeer antler headband on, its tongue is out and its tail curls beside it. The tree behind them has a big star on top and four round ornaments. The creature's tufty fur and the puppy's soft coat are perfect for everything from short scribbles to long strokes. Warm brown or soft blue could work for the creature, golden tan for the puppy, and bright red and gold for the ornaments and star. Shapes are large and lines are clear, so preschoolers and early elementary kids will do well with it. It's a free printable for a holiday classroom table or a quiet afternoon at home. Kids who like The Grinch coloring pages usually enjoy Halloween and Halloween Masks too.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the Grinch's face, neck, arms, hands, and legs in lime green, leaving the white fur collar, cuffs, and floor background uncolored.
- 2Color the Grinch's red coat and the red headband on the reindeer puppy in cherry red.
- 3Fill the Christmas tree branches and tiers in forest green, then color the star on top in bright yellow.
- 4Add the round ornaments on the tree in cherry red, and color the puppy's body, tail, paws, and ears in golden orange and chestnut brown.
- 5Color the puppy's tongue in baby pink and the small yellow shading on the Grinch's shin in lemon yellow.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading on the tree and the puppy's fur to make the scene look fuller, and keep the white fur and background bright.
