The Grinch Riding His Sleigh Past Snowy Trees
Coloring guide
The Grinch sits in a curved sleigh with a mischievous grin, holding the reins in his long-fingered hands. He wears a Santa hat with a fluffy pom-pom and a fur-trimmed coat with big fuzzy cuffs. Behind him, a tied sack spills over with wrapped presents topped with bows. Snowy hills and two snow-covered pine trees fill the background, and the sleigh's swirly runners rest at the bottom of the page. The fur texture on his coat and legs gives kids plenty of little sections to color in. Try green for his fuzzy fur and a bright red for the hat and coat trim, then use different colors on each present. This free printable works well for a holiday afternoon at home or a classroom Christmas activity. Looking for more? - 1Start with the Santa coat and hat: color the large coat areas and the hat top in bright red, leaving the fur trim white.
- 2Fill the Grinch's face, hands, and legs with lime green, adding forest green to the shadowed parts of the legs.
- 3Color the sleigh body in bright red, then the gold trim, scrolls, and runners in golden yellow with soft yellow and pale blue on the runner plates.
- 4Add the gifts: the big gift box in dark green, the small blue gifts in sky blue, and the ribbons and bows in golden yellow, with the branch and rope in caramel and olive brown.
- 5Color the trees in dark green and leave the snow, hill, and tree tops white for a snowy look.
- 6Optional: Add a little light green and brick red shading to the coat and sleigh to give them depth, and leave the eye whites, claws, and fur highlights white.
