Storybook Castle Color by Number with Drawbridge
Coloring guide
This grand castle has three tall towers with scalloped, tile-style cone roofs, and a little flag flies from every point. A lowered drawbridge held by two chains leads to the arched wooden door, with a shield emblem above it and arched windows on the towers. Out front, a cobblestone path winds past lily pads on the moat, flowers and leafy bushes. Farther back there are mountains, pine trees, a stone bridge, a winding river, puffy clouds and a smiling sun with rays. Small numbers are printed in the sections, and kids match each one to a color. Give each tower roof its own shade, like purple, teal and red, and keep sunny yellow for the sky. It's a free printable for patient colorers who like detail and number practice. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big background areas: color the sky-free grass and bushes in lime green and leaf green, and fill the pond with light blue, leaving the lily pads white.
- 2Color the castle walls and towers in cream beige, and the battlements and shield stones in stone gray.
- 3Fill the drawbridge planks, gate and gate door with wood brown, and the stone path with light sand.
- 4Color the flags in bright red and the pointed roofs with orange and bright red scales, using tangerine for a few accents.
- 5Paint the shield in antique gold and the far mountains and river in sky blue, keeping the clouds and sun white.
- 6Optional: Add a little forest green to the pine trees and tower shadows for depth, and finish with a few darker strokes on the bridge wood.
