Coral Reef Sea Turtle and Octopus Activity Sheets

Coloring guide
Across the top of this underwater scene swims a friendly sea turtle with a spotted shell, and near the bottom center sits a smiling octopus with curly tentacles. Nearby are a clownfish with bold stripes, two striped angelfish and a small school of tiny fish drifting between rising bubbles. The reef is packed with detailed coral, tall wavy seaweed and rocky mounds. Down low, kids can find a starfish, a scallop shell, an old-fashioned key, a lace-up boot and a ship's anchor half hidden in the coral. All the small sections suit patient colorers and make a nice quiet-time activity at home or in class. Greens and golden browns look good on the turtle's shell, and soft purple helps the octopus stand out from the busy coral. It's a free printable PDF for a calm, creative moment. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big octopus: fill its head and all its tentacles with warm orange, leaving the eye whites and the little round spots on its head white.
- 2Color the sea turtle's shell in caramel brown, then fill its head, neck and flippers with lime green and soft lime, keeping its eye whites white.
- 3Paint the clownfish with vivid orange, leaving its white stripes untouched, and color the top left fish in golden yellow and the right striped fish in sky blue.
- 4Add life to the reef with emerald green and bright green on the seaweed and corals, mint green on the right seaweed, and lavender on the small shell at the bottom.
- 5Finish the seabed details: color the anchor, rocks, starfish and gray corals in light gray, the old boot in tan, and the key in pale yellow.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of caramel brown or dark gray along the edges of the rocks and the turtle shell for a bit of depth.
