Crested Bird on a Winter Pine Branch
Coloring guide
A plump crested bird sits on a pine branch, head turned to the right, with a big round eye and a short pointed beak. It has a tall spiky crest, fluffy feathers around the face and chest, layered wing feathers and a long tail sweeping down to the lower left. Two large scaled pinecones hang from the branch, and small mounds of snow rest on top among the needles. Four snowflakes, each different, float in the empty space around the bird. Big shapes and bold outlines are easy for little hands. For a cozy look, try bright red on the body and crest, soft blue snowflakes and brown pinecones. Print it free for a quick break anytime. - 2Fill the wing's upper area with bright red, then use maroon red for the darker lower wing and the shadowed area under the wing.
- 3Color the face mask black, leaving the round eye white with a small white shine spot.
- 4Color the beak orange, and add orange to the two bands wrapped around the branch.
- 5Fill the pine cones and the branch with walnut brown, keeping the snow caps white.
- 6Color the four snowflakes sky blue, and leave the rest of the page white. Optional: add a few darker red strokes on the wing to make it look more textured.
