Cross-Legged Sadness With a Book, Inside Out
Coloring guide
Sadness from Inside Out sits cross-legged on the floor holding an open book in both hands, round glasses on her nose and eyes looking down at the pages. She wears a small, gentle smile and slightly worried eyebrows. Her bob haircut sweeps across her forehead, and her chunky ribbed turtleneck has ribbed cuffs too. Behind her is a rounded window showing mushroom-shaped shapes outside, a curved panel with horizontal slots on the left, and a round control table on the right with buttons and a little joystick. Younger kids will like the large shapes and smooth outlines, and older kids can spend time on the sweater ribbing and the background buttons. Light blue for her skin and hair with a deeper blue sweater is a good starting point. Print it at home for a quick coloring break. - 1Start with the big blue areas: color the round window sky, the left and right cushions, and the pants of both legs in deep blue and sky blue.
- 2Fill the red book covers with brick red, leaving the white book pages untouched.
- 3Color the hair in chocolate brown, the face and hands in skin peach, and the sweater, collar and sleeve cuffs in golden yellow.
- 4Add the green hill and bushes in light green and forest green, then the purple mushrooms and the purple sock in violet purple and lilac.
- 5Finish the yellow console and left shelf panels with golden yellow and light blue, keeping the lens circles, eye whites and sock stripe white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading on the sweater ribs and the hair edges to make the colors pop.
