Smiling away in a tall chef's hat, this friendly robot squeezes swirls of frosting from a piping bag onto a tray of cupcakes. Five of them sit on the baking sheet, each with a cherry on top and a ridged paper liner. Next to the tray is a mixing bowl of batter with a whisk resting in it. The robot has a buttoned apron over its jointed body and round ear panels framing its screen-style face. On the wall behind, a shelf holds a leafy potted plant, and a spatula and spoon hang from a rail by the counter. The frosting swirls and cupcake liners are good practice for staying inside the lines. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the robot's face screen in pale blue, keeping the two big eye whites and the smile area white.
- 2Color the head frame, both arms, gloves and the cabinets in royal blue and sky blue, leaving the apron and chef hat white.
- 3Add golden yellow to the ears and shoulders, tan to the counter top, and warm brown to the wall shelf and utensil rail.
- 4Fill the cupcake frosting in coral pink, the cherries in cherry red, and the cupcake liners in teal and white stripes, then the mixing bowl in cherry red with a white rim.
- 5Color the plant leaves in leaf green, the pot in clay orange, the whisk in purple, and the spatula and spoon in charcoal gray.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading on the cupcake frosting and the robot's head edge to make the colors pop.
