A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the rooster comb on top of the head and fill it with bright red, leaving small gaps at the edges if you like.
- 2Color both wattles hanging under the beak in bright red, keeping the same smooth strokes as the outline.
- 3Fill the upper beak and the lower beak with golden yellow, staying inside the black lines.
- 4Leave the eye white and the small shine spot inside the dark eye uncolored so the eye looks bright and lively.
- 5Keep the head, neck feathers and background white, since the fluffy feathers look great unfilled.
- 6Optional: Add a little light scribbling along the edges of the comb and beak for a softer, hand-colored look.
