Penguin in a Santa Hat Hugging a Christmas Present

A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.

• charcoal gray
• pale blue
• bright red
• forest green
• sky blue
• warm orange
• light coral
• rose pink

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.

1. 1Color the penguin's head top, both wings, and the sides of its body with charcoal gray, leaving the face and belly white.
2. 2Fill the beak and both feet with warm orange, then color the ice floe top pale blue and its edges sky blue.
3. 3Color the Santa hat bright red, leaving the fur trim and the pompom white, and add a rose pink touch to the fold of the hat.
4. 4Color the gift box forest green, then fill the bow, knot, and ribbon straps with bright red and the tongue with light coral.
5. 5Color the snowflakes pale blue, leaving their centers and small tips white, and keep the eye shine white.
6. 6Optional: Add light strokes of a darker shade on the wings and gift box edges to give them a bit more depth.
