This anteater looks ready for a nice evening out. He stands with one arm bent at his side, and he has a long curved snout, a round ear and a big black oval eye with eyelashes. Patchy markings run across his head. Over a shirt dotted with oval spots he wears a jacket-style vest, and a pointed necktie sits at the collar. His other arm hangs down and a fluffy tail sticks out behind him. With no background, kids can put their attention on the outfit and the head patterns. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big gray snout and head using steel gray, coloring the top of the head, the cheek, and the ear, and leave the eye white untouched.
- 2Fill the cream white shirt, both arms, and the belly area, keeping the eye white and the small belly spots for later.
- 3Color the blue shorts and both feet in royal blue, working around the cream belly at the top edge.
- 4Add the bright red tie and its knot, then color the soft pink inner ear and the fluffy pink tuft on the right side.
- 5Use golden yellow for the vest trim, the cuffs on the arms, the hand on the right, and the round belly spots.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker gray on the lower edges of the snout for depth, and leave small white highlights on the eye.
