Dino Jamming on an Upright Bass, The Flintstones

Coloring guide
Dino, the friendly pet dinosaur from The Flintstones, balances on one foot with the other leg kicked up as he plays a large upright bass. His mouth is wide open like he's singing along, and his eyes look up with a happy, dreamy expression. He wears a collar with a small tag, and the big solid black spots on his body are already filled in. The bass has f-shaped sound holes, a bridge, three tuning pegs, and a wooden stick for a foot. His tail curves up behind him. With no background, all the attention goes to Dino and his instrument. The outlines are bold and simple, which suits young colorists, and the page is free to print. A bright purple or teal body makes the black spots stand out, and warm orange-brown works for the bass. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big yellow dino body, neck, arm and feet using golden yellow, leaving the white claw and hair tuft untouched.
- 2Color the purple tail with lavender purple, then fill the bass body and neck in warm brown, with the darker parts of the bass in dark brown.
- 3Paint the dino snout and the top of its head in bright orange, and add the soft pink tongue inside the open mouth.
- 4Fill the blue collar and its small buckle in light blue, and color the bass's bridge, sound holes and bottom bar in light tan and charcoal gray.
- 5Add the dark brown strings and the charcoal gray bottom pins, keeping the eye whites and the left claw white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading along the edges of the bass and the dino's belly to make the colors pop.
