Dino the Pet Dinosaur From The Flintstones, Sitting Up
Coloring guide
A friendly long-necked dinosaur sits upright with a big smile, ready for kids to bring him to life. It looks like Dino, the pet dinosaur from The Flintstones. His neck curves up long, a small tuft of hair sits on his head, and a round collar with a tag hangs at his throat. His little front arms rest against his belly and his tail curls up behind him. Large black spots mark his side and back, and his feet have little claws and tufts at the toes. No background, so young colorers can concentrate on Dino. A bright purple body with an orange collar looks fun, and leaving the spots dark keeps the look bold. The big shapes are easy for small hands, and the smooth neck is a nice place to practice blending. This fits right in with our The Flintstones coloring pages — see also How to Train Your Dragon and Scooby-Doo.
A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- leaf green
- cherry red
- forest green
- soft butter yellow
- golden yellow
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by filling the large body, neck, and head with leaf green, leaving the eye whites untouched.
- 2Fill the back leg and the left foot leg with the same leaf green so the whole dinosaur looks like one shape.
- 3Color the collar band with cherry red, then add the small tag hanging from it in golden yellow.
- 4Use forest green for the spike on the dinosaur's back so it stands out from the body.
- 5Color the toes and foot pads with soft butter yellow, keeping them lighter than the green.
- 6Optional: Add a few light strokes of darker green along the belly and neck to give the dinosaur some depth.
