Diversity & Inclusion Page: Three Kids Holding Hands Under a Tree
Coloring guide
Three happy kids stand in a row on a grassy lawn, holding hands, each with a big open-mouthed smile. The boy on the left has short tousled hair and wears a plain t-shirt, shorts and sneakers. The girl in the middle has two curly puffs on top of her head, a short dress with a round collar and strappy flat shoes. On the right, a girl with a bob haircut and a headband wears a short overall outfit with a front pocket over a tee, plus sneakers. A large tree with a wavy, cloud-like canopy stands behind them, along with rounded bushes and a sun with rays in the corner. Small grass tufts and three flowers run along the bottom edge. It's free to print and works nicely for a friendship lesson or a quiet afternoon. Bright yellow suits the sun, and pinks, purples and oranges will make the flowers pop against the green grass. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the background grass and bushes with lime green, then fill the tree leaves with forest green.
- 2Paint the tree trunk and the boy's hair with brown, the middle girl's curls and hair buns with deep green and dark brown, and the right girl's hair with orange.
- 3Fill the faces, hands, arms and legs: peach for the boy and the right girl, warm tan for the middle girl, leaving the eye whites and teeth white.
- 4Color the clothes: sky blue shirt for the boy, pink dress for the middle girl, yellow shirt and headband for the right girl, and royal blue shorts and overalls for the boy and the right girl.
- 5Add the shoes in light blue, royal blue, purple and pink, and fill the sun in yellow, keeping the socks, dress collar and sky white.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading on the tree trunk and the sides of the dresses to make the colors pop.
