Dog Man Meets the Chief at the Station
Coloring guide
Two uniformed officers stand side by side in a cozy station office. On the left is a smiling dog with floppy ears, a dark nose and freckled cheeks, wearing a police cap, collared shirt, tie, badge and belt. Next to him stands a larger, friendly man with a big mustache, in a matching cap, shoulder patches, tie and badge. Behind them are a desk with a pencil cup and a stack of papers, a bulletin board with three notes pinned up, and a window showing city buildings and clouds. The bold, clean outlines are easy for younger kids. Classic navy blue for both uniforms and shiny yellow for the badges is a good plan. Print this sheet at home, no sign-up needed. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big window: fill the sky areas with sky blue and keep the window frame lines clean. Color the trees outside in leaf green.
- 2Paint the wooden desk and the wall behind it with wood brown, and fill the chair with medium gray.
- 3Color the dog's head and ear light brown, and the chief's face and nose peach skin. Leave the mustache and the note papers white.
- 4Fill both police jackets and caps with royal blue, and color the pants and ties navy blue. Use silver gray for the chief's hair and the cap shadows.
- 5Add golden yellow to the shield badges, then use charcoal gray for the shoes, belts, and cap bands.
- 6Optional: add light diagonal strokes of a slightly darker blue or gray on the jackets and pants to give them a little depth.
