Dora the Explorer Bike Ride with Flower Basket and Helmet
Coloring guide
Dora pedals a small bicycle along, grinning with her mouth wide open. She has a bike helmet on over her bob haircut, plus a long-sleeved striped shirt, shorts, shoes and a backpack. Up front, a woven basket on the handlebars carries a bunch of big-petaled, daisy-like flowers that are fun to color. The wheels have spokes, and the chain and pedals are drawn in clear, bold outlines. Since there's no background, all the attention goes to Dora and her bike. Pink and yellow flowers look nice, along with bright stripes on the shirt and an orange or purple helmet. Thick lines and large shapes make it a good fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big areas: fill the face, hands and ears with light peach, leaving the eye whites, teeth and small shine spots white.
- 2Color the helmet top and side in bubblegum pink, and the scarf in hot pink, keeping the white stripes on the helmet as they are.
- 3Fill the bike frame with light blue and sky blue, and color the wheel rims and hubs with golden yellow, leaving the spokes and gaps white.
- 4Color the jeans in sky blue and deep blue, the sweater in lavender purple with white stripes left untouched, and the backpack in medium purple.
- 5Fill the flower basket with apricot orange and add the flower petals in white, the stems and leaves in leaf green, and the tires in charcoal black.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading with a darker shade of each color on the sides of the helmet, sweater and jeans to make them pop.
