Eagle Standing in a Desert Cactus Mandala

Eagle Standing in a Desert Cactus Mandala coloring sheet

Coloring guide

A large bird of prey stands in the middle of a round frame, its head turned toward the right with a hooked beak and a small round eye. Its wings are folded along the body with scalloped feather lines and a curl on the upper wing, and long tail feathers sweep down to the left. Two pointed mountains rise behind the bird, and a few flat lines suggest land or water under its feet. Around the edge, the circle is filled with tall cacti with wavy ridges and spines, flat paddle-shaped prickly pear pads, rounded layered rocks, and bare, thorny shrubs. A fun idea is to color the feathers in several browns and tans, then use cool greens for the cacti and warm reds for the rocks so the eagle stands out. It's also a nice prompt for talking about desert plants and animals. Print it free and use colored pencils for the small details.
