River Crossing With an Elephant Family and Palm Trees
Coloring guide
Three smiling elephants wade through shallow river water. A large adult leads in front, a second adult follows on the left, and a small baby at the far left holds its trunk up. Gentle ripples circle their legs, and smooth rocks stick out of the water up front. Leafy plants and flowers fill the bottom corners. Along the bank, tall palm trees and bushy tropical greenery frame the scene, while rolling hills, a mountain and a few puffy clouds sit far off. The grown-ups have curled trunks, wrinkled skin lines and big floppy ears, so there's lots to color. Blue-gray elephants, a mix of greens for the palm leaves and warm browns for the rocks would look good. It's a free page, so print a few extra copies. Love this Elephant coloring page? - 1Start with the river: fill all the water areas around the elephants and rocks with aqua blue, leaving the small white highlights in the ripples.
- 2Color the elephants' bodies, heads, legs and trunks in light gray, including the baby elephant.
- 3Paint the ears of the elephants in coral pink, keeping the inner shapes soft.
- 4Fill the mountain in mountain blue and the sky clouds in pale sky blue, leaving the sky areas white.
- 5Color the palm leaves, bushes and grass in lime green, leaf green, mint green and emerald green for a lush jungle look.
- 6Finish the rocks in light gray; optional: add a little darker gray shading under the rocks and elephants for depth.
