Baby Elephant Spraying Water by the Pond
Coloring guide
Here's a playful little elephant with its trunk curled high overhead, sending a shower of water droplets arcing down over its back. It has big round eyes, a wide open grin and floppy ears. At the bottom, a small pond with rippling circles sits in front of it, with a few rounded rocks alongside. Tall cattails and leafy reeds grow on the left, and small tufts of grass show up near the feet and on the right. The lines are bold and clean, which makes this free printable a good match for preschoolers and early elementary kids still working on pencil control. Sky blue would look great on the water drops and pond. Try gray or lavender for the elephant and warm browns for the cattails. - 2Color the elephant's ear and the rounded cheek area of the head with soft pink, keeping the rest of the elephant body white.
- 3Paint the front leg and both pond rocks with light gray, then color the tail tip charcoal gray.
- 4Color the grass tufts and blades with leaf green and forest green, and fill the cattails with chocolate brown.
- 5Color the tongue with coral red and the toenails with cream, leaving the eye whites and the rest of the elephant body white.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading on the light gray leg and the pond edges to make the scene look more three-dimensional.
