A cheerful girl in a wide-brimmed hat, overalls and tall rubber boots sits on a wooden stool and milks a smiling cow into a metal bucket. She has a long braid over her shoulder and a big grin. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big barn wall areas and the hay bales: fill the wooden barn walls with barn red and the hay with golden yellow, leaving the cow's body white.
- 2Color the cow's brown patches on its body, back and tail with chocolate brown, and fill the cow's ears and muzzle area with coral pink, keeping the cow's body, head and udder white.
- 3Color the girl's hat with straw yellow, her hair with caramel brown, and her face and hands with peach skin, leaving the eye whites and the cow's eye whites white.
- 4Fill the denim overalls and the wooden stool with sky blue and caramel brown, then color the girl's red shirt sleeves with barn red and her yellow rubber boots with golden yellow.
- 5Color the ground grass with grass green, the milk bucket with steel gray (leaving the rim and inside white), and the cow's hooves with charcoal gray.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading with a darker shade of each color on the shadowed sides of the cow and the hay, and leave small white highlights on the bucket and the girl's hat.
