A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the hen's body, chest and neck with caramel brown, and the big wing feathers with cream, leaving a few light strips for a soft look.
- 2Fill the barn walls and roof with cherry red, and the barn window and door with wheat tan, keeping the window panes white.
- 3Paint the bushes and grass with grass green and leaf green, and the fence posts and rails with wheat tan.
- 4Color the comb and wattle with cherry red, the beak and feet with marigold yellow, and the basket with wheat tan.
- 5Fill the eggs: sky blue for the polka-dot egg, lavender purple, rose pink, mint green, lemon yellow and coral red for the others, leaving small white dots and zigzags on them.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker caramel brown on the lower wing feathers and under the basket rim for depth.
