At the edge of a stone-rimmed pond, a smiling mom and her happy young boy crouch together and toss tiny seeds to three ducks paddling below. The boy holds a small bag in one hand, and little dots show crumbs falling toward the ripples. Behind them are a wooden park bench, leafy trees, round bushes, small flowers and tufts of grass, with a few tall city buildings peeking over the treetops. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the pond water light sky blue, and leave the three duck bodies white with their black outlines.
- 2Fill the lawn and bushes with lime green and grass green, and the darker background shrubs with forest green.
- 3Paint the tree trunks and the bench slats warm brown and golden orange, and the bench legs slate gray.
- 4Color the woman's jacket coral pink, her jeans medium blue, her sweater off white, and her white sneakers stay white; the boy's hoodie and jeans go in medium blue and his sneakers in royal blue.
- 5Add light peach to the faces and hands, dark brown to both heads of hair, and tan to the paper bag, then color the stone pond edge light gray.
- 6Optional: Add a light touch of pale blue along the pond edges and under the ducks for a soft shadow and depth.
