Figure Skater Gliding Across an Ice Skating Arena
Coloring guide
A cheerful young skater with her hair in a bun and a flower accessory glides over the ice, one leg stretched behind her and her arms crossed over her chest. Her costume is sparkly and dotted, with long sleeves and a flouncy ruffled skirt, and her lace-up skates show their blades. The arena behind her is full of empty rows of seats, steps between the seating sections, hanging ceiling lamps, and big and small stars on the wall. Curved skate tracks swirl across the ice up front. Lilac or icy blue for the costume and gold for the stars would help her performance shine. The big open areas on the ice and in the stands are easy for small hands, and the beaded dots on the costume give older kids something fun to work on. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big blue dome and banner at the top: color the ceiling and the wide banner in bright blue and light blue, leaving the small light hanging lamps white.
- 2Color the skater's skin in peach, including her face, neck, arms, hands and legs, and keep the eye whites and teeth white.
- 3Fill the audience seats with bright blue, using pale sky blue for the lighter upper rows, and keep the spaces between the seat backs white.
- 4Color the dress in hot pink and light pink, using light pink for the sparkly bodice and the ruffled skirt edges, and leave the skate blades and boots white.
- 5Finish with the golden yellow stripes along the rink edge, the lemon yellow stars, and the brown hair. Optional: add a little extra shading along the skirt folds with a slightly darker pink.
