Flamingo Bending Down to Feed Its Chick

An adult flamingo stands on two very long, thin legs with its neck curved down in a deep S shape. The large curved beak reaches toward a small chick standing on the left. The chick tilts its head up with its beak open, as if waiting to be fed. The adult has feather lines on its rounded body and wing, plus a tuft of feathers hanging near the tail. Both birds stand on a patch of ground, with wavy water lines drawn behind them. This free printable works well for a lesson on how animal parents care for their young. Try coloring the adult in bold pinks and the chick in softer grey or pale pink, so kids can talk about how the two birds look different. The water lines are a nice spot for light blues.
