Floating House: Smiling Houseboat With Portholes and Sailboats
Coloring guide
A friendly little houseboat with a big smiling face on its bow floats on wavy water in this free printable. The cabin has vertical plank siding, three round porthole windows with cross-shaped frames, an arched door, and a chunky chimney poking through the curved roof. Along the deck are a railing, a potted leafy plant, and two puffy fenders hanging over the side, and three more portholes line the hull below. Out behind the boat, two small sailboats drift near the horizon while three seagulls cross the sky. A sunny yellow cabin, a bright red door, and a plant in several greens would all look good. Wide wave lines and large shapes suit little hands, and the portholes and deck planks give older kids some detail. This fits right in with our House coloring pages — see also Cookie and Hamburger.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the whole hull, roof and funnel body in bright red, leaving the sails, fenders and eye whites for later.
- 2Fill the cabin walls, the small side roof and the small cabin with wood brown, keeping the porthole rims as clean lines.
- 3Color the deck planks and the railings with golden yellow, and add warm orange to the lower deck boards.
- 4Paint the door, the portholes and the window glass in sky blue and light blue, with pale blue for the small window.
- 5Color the fenders in sky blue and the plant leaves in leaf green, then fill the smile with coral pink, leaving the eye whites and the sails white.
- 6Optional: Add a few light strokes of darker red along the bottom of the hull to make it look more rounded.
