This fluffy bunny with long ears is perched on a snow-capped rocky ledge, one paw tucked under its chin and a happy little smile on its face as it looks down. A curly tuft of fur sticks up from the top of its head. Down in the valley to the lower right sits a quiet winter village with snug cottages, a church steeple, a winding path and small evergreens. Snowy mountains rise in the distance, big snow-dusted pines frame the left side, and snowflakes and round snowballs drift across the sky. All that fur means lots of small spaces to fill in, so it suits a calm afternoon. Soft lavender or light gray would look lovely on the bunny, and warm yellow windows will make the cottages feel cozy under icy blue skies. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big coat on the Grinch's body and the red coat sections in soft red, leaving the white fur trim on the collar, cuffs and sleeve edges white.
- 2Color the Grinch's face, arms, hands, legs and the hair tuft in lime green, keeping the eye whites and teeth white, and use olive green for the nose.
- 3Fill the tall pine trees on the left and the small pine in the village with dark green and forest green, then color the snow on the branches in pale ice blue.
- 4Color the distant mountains and the winding river in steel blue and light blue, and keep the snowy mountain caps and ground white.
- 5Color the rocky cliff in taupe brown, the church tower in tan with its roof in soft red, and the house door in bright red.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading in the lower parts of the coat and cliff for depth.
