Fruit Basket Faces Activity Sheets with Pineapple and Pear
Coloring guide
A woven basket overflowing with cheerful fruit faces makes a friendly page for little hands. Inside, a pineapple with a crisscross pattern and spiky leaves sits behind two bananas, while three round apples with leafy stems and a small bunch of cherries fill the front. The apples, the pineapple and the pear all have big sparkly eyes, rosy cheeks and happy smiles. On the left, outside the basket, a bunch of round grapes with a curly vine leaf rests on a simple tabletop line, and a smiling pear with a leaf stands on the right. The basket's braided rim and brick-like weave offer lots of small spaces for practicing staying inside the lines. Golden yellow for the pineapple and bananas, bright red for the apples and cherries and purple for the grapes make a good palette. Download and print it for a classroom project or weekend craft. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the apples, cherries, and pineapple body in red and golden yellow, leaving the small eye whites and smile highlights white.
- 2Color the banana bodies bright yellow and their tops dark brown, then fill the pear with lime yellow.
- 3Fill the basket with wicker tan, working row by row across the weave and rim, and use caramel brown for the darker side bricks.
- 4Color the grape bunch purple and the grape leaf and stem in leaf green and caramel brown, along with the pineapple top leaves in light green.
- 5Add the orange shading on the lower part of the pineapple and the apple leaves in leaf green and light green.
- 6Optional: Leave the background and the shelf lines white, or add a few soft shadows under the fruit to make the basket feel grounded.
