Rooftop Sneak: Grinch-Like Creature With a Toy Sack

Tiptoeing across a snowy tiled rooftop, a shaggy, long-nosed creature in a floppy pointed hat carries a big patched sack over one shoulder. Toys spill out of the top, including a teddy bear, wrapped presents with bows, a candy cane and a few ornaments. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big bright red areas: the sack, the red coat, the hat and the scarf stripes, leaving the fur trim and snowy bits white.
- 2Color the creature's face, body, arms and gloved hands in lime green, keeping the eye whites and the teeth white.
- 3Fill the teddy bear and the boot soles with caramel brown, then color the boots and sack patches using bright red, grass green, sky blue and golden yellow.
- 4Color the chimney bricks in coral orange, adding some brick red, rust red and tangerine bricks for variety, and shade the chimney shadow with slate gray.
- 5Fill the roof tiles with soft blue and pale blue, the distant snow and drifts with ice blue, and the pine trees with pine green, leaving the big snow areas white.
- 6Optional: add a little ice blue shading along the snow drifts and a touch of ocean blue to the background houses for depth.
