Girl and Puppy on a Park Bench

A smiling girl with a headband and a hoodie sits on a wooden bench with a happy puppy beside her, one hand holding the tag on its collar and the other resting on its back. Behind them a pond holds a little duck, a winding path curves past a lamp post, and a small city skyline sits in the distance. The trees are drawn as simple triangles, which fits the Shapes category well. You will also spot a round sun with rectangular rays, a butterfly, two birds, a trash can, tulips, and flowers dotted around the grass. Try this: have kids point out and name every triangle, rectangle, and circle they can find, then color each shape type in its own color. The big open areas on the bench and the sky are easy for younger kids to fill in.
