A big-eyed swan glides over a calm pond, its long neck curved in a gentle S and its head turned slightly to one side. The wings are layered, scalloped feathers, which means lots of small sections for little hands to fill in. Ripples circle the swan's body, and three water lilies rest on lily pads in the front and along the right side. Tall cattails and grasses fill the left edge, with another clump on the right. Far off on the opposite shore, a small cottage with a chimney sits beside rounded bushes and trees. Soft white and light gray feathers with an orange beak look sweet, along with pink lily petals and bright green pads. Print the free PDF for a fun afternoon at home. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the water around the swan and between the reeds with sky blue, leaving the swan's body and its white feathers untouched.
- 2Fill the cattail heads with chocolate brown, then color the tall reeds and grass clumps with lime green and forest green.
- 3Color the bushes along the far shore and beside the house with leaf green, and fill the lily pads with leaf green too.
- 4Color the lily flower petals light pink, adding a few rose pink petals to the flower centers, and keep the swan's body and eye white.
- 5Color the swan's beak orange, the house roof coral red, and the house walls pale cream.
- 6Optional: add a slightly darker blue along the edges of the water near the swan to make it look like a shadow.
