Grinning Helicopter with Rainbow, Birds and Stars
Coloring guide
A cartoon helicopter with big sparkly eyes and an open-mouthed grin hovers in the center of the page, with little motion lines above its spinning rotor blades. A large striped rainbow arches across the sky behind it. Two small round birds flutter on either side, and the tail rotor is shaped like a flower. Stars are scattered through the empty spaces, and fluffy clouds sit along the bottom and the left and right edges. Big shapes and bold lines make this free printable a good match for preschoolers and early elementary kids still building pencil control. Color the rainbow bands red, orange, yellow, green and blue, then give the helicopter a sunny yellow body so it pops against the sky. Add this to your Helicopter coloring page collection, alongside Bus and Monster Trucks.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the clouds at the bottom and the side: fill them with pale blue, and leave the rainbow sky and the background white.
- 2Color the helicopter body, tail boom and tail fin bright red, leaving the thin white highlight strips along the lower body and beside the struts white.
- 3Fill the big round face with lemon yellow, keep the eye whites white, and color the open mouth dark red with a pink tongue.
- 4Color the rotor blades, hub and landing skids bright blue, and make the mast and its base orange.
- 5Color both birds with aqua blue bodies and steel blue wings, then fill the stars, the small star by the tail and the flower petals with lemon yellow, keeping the flower center bright blue.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes along the lower edges of the clouds and the body to give the helicopter a little depth.
