Grumpy Stepping Stone Pup and a Butterfly Chaser

Two spotted puppies share a garden path in this scene. One sits on a flat stepping stone wearing a collar, squinting with a grumpy look while the other puppy's paw rests across its forehead. The second puppy stands up on its back legs with a big open smile and reaches a front paw toward a large butterfly fluttering above. Behind them are a brick wall, a bush of daisy-like flowers, a broad leafy plant, tufts of grass, and a small cloud in the sky. Try coloring the butterfly wings in two or three bold colors and leaving the puppies' spots dark, then ask kids to count how many spots they can find on each dog. This free printable also works well for a quick lesson on garden insects.
