Rainy Day Duck with Umbrella and Boots

Raindrops fall all around a cheerful little duckling who stands in a puddle holding an open umbrella. It has round sparkly eyes, a big open-mouthed smile, a small tuft of feathers on its head and one wing tucked at its side. Chunky rain boots cover its feet, and ripples spread out in the water below. Grass tufts sit on both sides of the puddle, and raindrops in different sizes fill the sky, so there are lots of little spots to color. The umbrella is split into clear panels with round tips, which makes it easy to do one section at a time. Bright yellow works for the duckling with an orange beak and red or blue boots, and two alternating colors would look nice on the umbrella. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the duck's body, head, wing, and hand with golden yellow, leaving the eye shine and the small white gaps near the neck and between the legs white.
- 2Color the umbrella: red on the top left panel, golden yellow on the top middle panel, forest green on the right panel, orange on the panels near the duck's head and lower left, and bright blue on the lower right and center right panels.
- 3Color the beak and the legs orange, then add coral pink to the open mouth and tongue.
- 4Fill the rain boots with red and color the umbrella handle and shaft bright blue.
- 5Color the puddle and all the raindrops light blue, leaving the grass tufts uncolored.
- 6Optional: Add a slightly darker shade of yellow along the bottom of the duck's body for a little depth.
