Happy Kids Enjoying a Chinese New Year Feast

Two smiling children stand behind a table full of food, rubbing their hands together in a happy greeting. The boy on the left wears glasses and a round cap, and he laughs with his mouth wide open. The child on the right wears a cap with a little knob on top and a jacket with knot buttons, with both hands held together at the chest. Five round lanterns hang across the top, each with a yin yang symbol and long tassels. On the table you can see a teapot, a plate of noodles with chopsticks, a whole fish on a platter, several bowls with steam rising, and a bowl of round dumplings or balls. This free page gives lots of room for color. Try red and gold on the lanterns, then use soft browns and yellows for the food so the steam lines stand out. It also works well for talking about the foods families share at the new year table.
