Party Octopus With Balloons and a Striped Hat

Ready to celebrate, this smiling octopus has big sparkly eyes, an open happy mouth and a striped party hat with a pom-pom on top. Two curly tentacles reach up holding four oval balloons on strings, two on each side. The other tentacles curl out below with rows of little oval suckers to fill in. Small bubbles of different sizes float around the scene. Younger kids can start on the big open areas of the head, balloons and hat, and older kids can take on the suckers and bubbles. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big octopus body and all its tentacles in lavender purple, leaving the white suction cup dots and the little shine spots untouched.
- 2Fill the balloons: bright red for the top left one, golden yellow for the left one, grass green for the top right one and orange for the right one, keeping the white shine spots on each.
- 3Color the party hat with alternating sky blue and pale yellow stripes, then fill the fluffy pompom on top with golden yellow.
- 4Color the mouth's tongue coral pink and add small coral pink spots on a couple of tentacles.
- 5Fill the floating bubbles with sky blue, leaving their white shine dots blank, and keep the background white.
- 6Optional: Add a slightly darker purple along the edges of the body and tentacles for a little depth.
