Happy Squirrel Standing With Big Fluffy Tail

A cheerful squirrel stands upright on its back feet with its eyes squeezed shut in a big smile. Two front teeth poke out, and the paws are held together in front of its round belly. Tufts of fur frame the cheeks, and the pointed ears stand tall on top of the head. Behind it, a huge bushy tail curves up and over, with jagged fur edges all along the outline. The large open areas on the tail and body make this an easy page for younger kids with chunky crayons, while the fur tufts give older kids some detail to work on. Try shading the tail with two or three browns or grays to show how thick the fur looks, then add a lighter color on the belly. It also works well for a quick talk about how squirrels use their tails. You can print it free at home or in the classroom.
