Pond-Side Squirtle Look-Alike Watching a Rainbow
Coloring guide
On a grassy bank, a smiling little turtle tips its head back and looks up at a rainbow with big round eyes. This free printable gives it a fin-like crest on its head, a striped neck, and a shell full of swirl patterns. A puffy cloud sits at each end of the rainbow, and the wide bands are easy to color in. Tall cattails and grass tufts frame both sides, two small rocks sit on the left, and lily pads float on the rippled pond water in front. Big shapes and clean lines suit preschoolers and early elementary kids well. Soft teal or blue would be nice for the turtle's skin, and bright warm colors on the shell swirls help them stand out against the rainbow. Add this to your Squirtle coloring page collection, alongside Eevee (Pokémon) and Legendary Pokémon.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the rainbow: color the outer band red, the next band sunny yellow, the next band light green, and the inner band bright blue, leaving the space inside the arc white.
- 2Fill the turtle's head, neck, and legs with light green, then color the top and lower fins dark green and the middle fin medium green.
- 3Color the shell rim orange and the swirls and top of the shell chocolate brown, then fill the belly and belly band with sunny yellow.
- 4Color the grass island, the tail, and the grass blades with medium green and light green, and color the two cattails chocolate brown.
- 5Color the lily pads and the rocks next, using medium green for the lily pads and light gray for the rocks, then add cream toe claws and an amber patch on the back foot. Leave the eye whites, clouds, and background white.
- 6Optional: add a slightly darker shade of green along the bottom of the shell and the legs to make the turtle look more rounded.
