Hen Walking Across a Patch of Straw

Hen Walking Across a Patch of Straw coloring page

Coloring guide

A plump hen walks to the left with her head held up and her tail feathers fanned out behind her. She has a solid black comb on top of her head, a small pointed beak, and a black wattle under her chin. The feathers on her chest, wing, and back are shown with short curved lines, and the fluffy edge around her belly looks a bit ragged. Her thin legs have scaly stripes and spread toes, and she stands on a few loose strokes of straw. This free printable page is great for a farm unit. Try browns and reds for a classic hen, then talk about why real chickens have different feather colors. The large open body leaves plenty of room for crayons, colored pencils, or even small bits of paper glued on as feathers.
