Hopping Bunny Swinging an Easter Basket of Eggs

This happy bunny bounds across a grassy meadow with a woven basket swinging from one paw, and the basket is stuffed with decorated Easter eggs. The eggs have different patterns, like zigzag stripes and little dots, which gives kids lots of variety to color. The bunny has big floppy ears, long whiskers, a fluffy tail and a cheerful open-mouth grin. A smiling butterfly flutters on each side, each trailing a dotted line to show its path. Tulips and simple daisy-style flowers fill the foreground, with soft bushes and rolling hills behind. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the bunny's head, body, ears, arms and legs with tan brown, then fill the inner ears and the nose with baby pink.
- 2Paint the bunny's tail and the cheek patches cream, and leave the eye whites, teeth and whisker lines white.
- 3Color the open mouth coral orange and the basket rim and band golden yellow, then shade the lower woven part of the basket with tan brown.
- 4Fill the eggs in the basket: a leaf green top egg, a sky blue polka dot egg, a tangerine orange middle egg, a dusty rose zigzag egg, a lime green striped egg and a lavender egg.
- 5Color the butterflies with golden yellow and sky blue wings, and add light pink and hot pink spots. Fill the bushes and grass with grass green and the stems with leaf green.
- 6Finish the flowers: leave the big flower petals white, fill their centers and the side petals golden yellow, color the small purple flowers violet purple, and tint the tulips tomato red and hot pink. Optional: add a little darker tan brown shading under the bunny's body for depth.
