Here a friendly horse with a smile rears onto its hind legs, front hooves tucked in, wearing a plain halter. Its mane and tail are long and flowing. A small stream winds past rocks and under a stone arch bridge behind it, and a wooden fence stands on the left. Pine trees cover the hillsides, mountains rise far off and puffy clouds fill the sky. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the horse's body, face, raised legs and foreleg with burnt orange, leaving the muzzle cream.
- 2Color the mane, tail and forelock with chestnut brown, keeping the flowing strands easy to follow.
- 3Paint the hooves charcoal gray and the rocks and the stone bridge light gray.
- 4Color the sky clouds, the mountains and the stream water with sky blue, keeping the upper right cloud white.
- 5Fill the pine trees with bright green, then color the bushes and grass with fresh green and yellow green.
- 6Optional: Add a slightly darker shade on the lower parts of the horse body and tail to give it more depth.
